HON AJALA BREAKS TRUCE BETWEEN AGGRIEVED RESIDENTS AND LAMATA CONSULTANT OVER COMPENSATION ISSUE

Wednesday 16th, 2021.
There was a respite among the aggrieved residents today following the intervention of the Chairman, Odi-lowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon Rasaq Olusola Ajala, in the issue of compensation between some aggrieved residents and LAMATA over the nonpayment of compensation.
Some residents lamented that they were not compensated for the project that is about to commence around Ogunmokun, toll gate and some streets in Onipanu area.
The aggrieved residents had demonstrated yesterday at the council's premises on the issues of compensation which many said they were denied of.
Hon. Ajala therefore invited the Consultant to address and clarify the issues today.
Hon. Ajala, while addressing the gathering said, "After listening to most of the complaints, it was discovered that many of the residents have no trust in the government, and they did not take the exercise seriously only to realise the geniuses of it after some people received their cheques.
He further said, "Some were conspicuously absent when the exercise was done for genuine reason while some were unable to produce rent receipt for verification".
He added that some of the people shared the same name within the same residence as such were believed to be the same person while some of the cheques were not honored at the bank.
Reacting to all the issues, the consultant, Mr Osho, said those whose cheques were not honored did not use the name used for their BVN in their banks. He advised them to always do the right thing in the future while promising to clear the issue by rewriting their names correctly and appends his signature for their cheques to be honoured.
He said the names of those who missed the verification exercise have been sent back to the authority and hope something tangible will come out of it.
He said, "Myself and the Chairman will work together to engage the authority in addressing the issue because of the number of people involved."
It was resolved that each category of people should put down their names for further actions.
